Course Experience

“Biomed is really interesting. There's quite a bit of psychology and neuroscience, which I didn't expect, but it's really cool. Everything is mostly essay based (the prelims are essays and multiple choice questions), which I didn't expect, but you get used to writing explanatory essays. The workload is quite high and there is a lot of contact time, but if you're organised it's definitely manageable. My favourite part of the course is probably its breadth: I've got to study a lot of areas that I hadn't previously considered, which is really fun.” - 1st Year

Application Process:

"I was super nervous before and throughout all four of my interviews, but I think that's perfectly normal. Just try not to become so nervous that it impacts your performance." - 2024

Tips for the Interview

"Revise what you wrote in your personal statement and if you read something or went to a talk and mentioned it, do a little bit of reading around the area. What you wrote doesn't always come up, but it might. Don't panic if you make a mistake (I very confidently gave a completely wrong answer in one of my interviews). Just explain your reasoning behind every decision, and if you realise that you were wrong about something, explain how you have come to this realisation (the interviewers expect you to make mistakes)." - 2024
